Curriculum Vitae
Prof. Dr. Yalçın Kekeç was born in Adana in 1956. He completed his elementary education in 1967 at Adana Seyhan Primary School, his secondary school education in 1970 at Adana Cumhuriyet Secondary School and his high-school education in 1973 at Adana Karşıyaka High School. He started his university education in 1973 at Hacettepe University, Faculty of Medicine and completed his education in this faculty in year 1980. He started specialization education in Cukurova University Faculty of Medicine General Surgery department in 1981. He finished his specialization education in 1985 and in the same year he started his military service at Gülhane Millitary Medical Academy 1st external diseases clinic. He completed his military service in 1981. After making his compulsory service at Çaycuma (Zonguldak) State Hospital between the years 1986 and 1989, he was promoted to assistant professor degree at Cukurova University Faculty of Medicine General Surgery department at the same year. He made studies between February 1992 and May 1992 at Organ Transplantation and Burn Therapy Hospital in Ankara. Prof. Dr. Kekeç become an assocciate professor at Cukurova University Faculty of Medicine General Surgery department in 1993. He was promoted to professor degree in the same department in 1998. Prof. Dr. Yalçın Kekeç was the rector of Cukurova University between the years 2000 and 2004.
Prof. Dr. Kekeç conducted the following duties in the given years, between 1994 and 1996 as asistant to head doctor of Cukurova University Balcalı Hospital; between 1995 and 1999 as Faculty Board member of Faculty of Medicine; between 1994 and 1997 as Faculty Administrative Board member. He was also a member of Ethic Board between 1995 and 1998. Prof. Dr. Kekeç was a member of Injection Board between 1994 and 1997. Also he conducted as Main Sterilization Responsible between 1990-1991 and Cukurova University Faculty of Medicine Tender Commission Director between 1995 and 1996.
With his study titled “Using Mechanical Power of Skeleton Muscles Preserving Normal Structures In Died Organisms” he got a second prize in biology branch in a project competition organized by Turkish Scientific Research Council (TÜBITAK), and with his study titled “The Importance of the Compound of Antistine, Chloropromycin and Reserpin in Septic Shock Treatment” he got his second prize in medicine branch in a project competition organized by Turkish Scientific Research Council (TÜBITAK) again. Prof. Dr. Kekeç is married with 2 children. He speaks English and German at intermediate level.
