Prof.Dr. Mustafa KİBAR

Born on 25 May 1964 in İskenderun, Prof.Mustafa Kibar completed high school in Dörtyol in 1981 and got into Istanbul University, Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine to graduate in 1987, when he served part of his obligatory service at SSK Diyarbakır District Hospital.

Later, he passed the TUS exam and started working as a research assistant at Trakya University General Surgery Department, which he later left in 1989 to start working as a research assistant at Çukurova University, Faculty of Medicine, Nuclear Medicine Department. Prof. Kibar completed his career education in 1993 and became an associate professor in 1997 and a full professor in 2003.Prof.Kibar was head of the department for about 10 years. He boasts over 75 scientific papers, 32 of them being international (SCI/SCI-expanded). He has extensively contributed to various courses, panels and congresses. Additionally, he is an executive editor of and advisor to a number of prestigious journals. In 1998, he was assigned to work at Washington University School of Medicine, Institute of Radiology for three months. Prof. Kibar is a member of Adana Chamber of Doctors, Nuclear Medicine Association of Turkey, Molecular Imaging and Treatment Association of Turkey and European Association of Nuclear Medicine.

Prof. Kibar was deputy chief physician for about two years of Çukurova University, Faculty of Medicine, Balcalı Hospital as of 1999. He was general secretary of Çukurova University, Faculty of Medicine, Support Foundation between 2000-2002. He was a member of Faculty of Medicine Post-graduate Education Coordinators Board between 2001-2003.

Prof. Kibar was General Director of Balcalı Hospital between 2004-2005 and organised the sharing of new and old hospital blocks by the departments. He was Balcalı Hospital Physician-in-chief and School of Medicine Vice-dean between 2005-2006. Most recently, he was chief physician of Adana Acıbadem Hospital between 2009-2012. He is married with two children.
