Prof.Dr. Alper AKINOĞLU

Prof. Dr. Alper Akınoğlu was born in Osmaniye in 1951.He completed his elementary education in 1962 at Osmaniye Atatürk Primary School and his secondary school in between 1962 and 1965 at Ankara Mustafa Kemal Secondary School. He graduated from Ankara Atatürk High School in 1968. He entered Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine at the same year and graduated as Doctor of Medicine in 1975.

He began to work as an assistant in 1975 at Cukurova University Faculty of Medicine Department of General Surgery. In the same surgery clinic, he became General Surgeon on September 17,1979.He made his military service in Elazığ Military Hospital between 1979-80.

After his military service ended, he started working at Cukurova University Faculty of Medicine General Surgery Clinic in 1981.In 1982, he entered Assistant Professor exam and became Assistant Professor at the same clinic.He won Associate Professor of General Surgery Department in 1984. He studied on estrogen and progesteron receptor analysis within two months in Frei Universitat, Klinikum Steglitz, Berlin in 1985.

He had been to Australia, Sydney University, Westmead Hospital for a period of three months in 1989.In there, he participated in pancreatic and renal transplantation studies actively in the transplant team with the decision “NSW Medical Board”. He assumed the title of professor in 1990. He still serves in Department of General Surgery, Cukurova University Faculty of Medicine.

He served as Rector of Cukurova University between August 6,2004 - August 5,2012; as Rector (by proxy) of Osmaniye Korkut Ata University between the years 2007 - 2008.

Alper AKINOĞLU, knows English well, is married and has two children.
